I took all three grandkids fishing the other day.  It was at a little spot down the road, known as Zeke's bridge.  The kids like it.  I never expect to get any of my own fishing in while I have them, but that's OK.  Travis started out with worms but changed to a jitterbug lure.  Because he thinks he's a big kid, he likes to use my old setup with the open face reel.  Unfortunately, he gets the line tangled on a regular basis.  Kayla's only three, and can't cast yet, so I had to keep casting for her.  The wind was blowing ripples in the water, and the bobber would come back to shore too soon.  Ella started out on my folding chair, reading a book.  When Kayla lost interest, Ella grabbed her rod and skipped over to a rock to try her luck.  She looked so cute, sitting there waiting for a bite that never came.
While I had some free time, I tried to fix up my fly line.  The day before, I lost two flies, and messed up the leader.  Travis asked what I was doing.  After I told him, he asked "Why would anyone want to fish for flies?"  I started to giggle, and said "No, I use flies to catch fish".  He replied "Flying fish?"  How could I not crack up?!
