a little wild

It was 7:00 in the morning when I was pulling into the parking lot at work. Just as I was about to make the turn, a coyote sprinted across the road. He looked as big and robust as a german shepherd dog. I glided the car to a stop and got out without banging the door closed. I looked for him in the ravine where he had run to, but couldn't see him. While I was getting my things out of the car, the coyote let out a single howl. That was the last I heard from him for today, but I'm looking forward to seeing him again.
It's nice to know that in a state as developed as Rhode Island, there are still enough pockets of wild places to support coyetes and the wildlife they need to survive.
