Garnet and Gold

Although summer is my favorite time of year, fall has its merits. The weather is generally still warm enough to be outside, and the bugs have mostly gone.
I love the color blue that the sky can be in autumn. When it's clear, with maybe only a puff of cloud here and there, I feel I could look into forever. I have one picture, taken around this time of year, of an ancient maple tree if full blazing color, against such a blue sky. It really is the essence of fall to me.
On my ride to work, I have been seeing the most wonderful color combinations in the trees. There are some oaks that are definitely what I would call a garnet color. Next to the bright golden yellow of the birches and maples, they stun me with their beauty. I keep telling myself to take all this beauty in, as I'll need to remember color in the stark greys of winter.
