Getting antsy

This time of year I really want to start gardening, but it's too early. The snow is gone, and the daffodils are up, but I can't work the ground. The best I can do is clear up the beds and rake the grass free of all the dead stuff.
It's just a bit too early to plant seeds inside. If I start them too soon, they are likely to get leggy and fall over. I dream of having heat mats and grow lights. I can't imagine what that would do to my electric bill, though. Last year I was actually successful with tomato seedlings. I may start others this year, and get a jump on the season. I just need more space and more light!
