It's spring by the calendar, and there have been signs. I heard robins singing, and heard the peepers the other night. The daffodils are coming up and some are blooming.
All I've been able to do so far is rake leaves off the flower beds, and rake up the dead grass. I really want to get out in the soil and start planting things, but it's just too soon. It's almost too soon to plant seeds indoors, but I think I'll start tomorrow anyway. If I start early, there is always a chance that the seedlings will get too leggy and weak. One of my dreams is to have grow lights. For now, I just use the windows and pray for enough sunny days. It worked out pretty well last year. Hopefully I can find room and enough windowsill space to grow a few more things and get a head start. Planting time is usually Memorial Day weekend for the tender crops like tomatoes, eggplant and peppers. Right now, it feels so far away! I want to get my hands dirty!
