My grandchildren are blessed with an extended family, most of whom are relatively close to visit. On Christmas Eve, they go to Voa Voa's, the paternal grandmother of my son-in-law. Much of that side of the family goes there as well, and it's a full house!
Christmas morning, they open their gifts from Santa and their parents at home. Then my husband and I, and Justin's other grandparents go there for dinner, and our gifts!
Finally, we go to New Hampshire, a two hour ride, to my family's side, and even more gifts! For some reason, this seemed to be the year of large gifts from my side of the family. Ella has two different kinds of castles (which she loves!) and Travis has a huge dragon fortress and a large talking truck! They gave Kayla a baby keyboard with a microphone, and she wasn't shy about using it. Later on, we heard Ella singing into it when she thought no one was around. Maybe they'll sing duets together. That would be cute.
When Justin got a gift card from my parents, Travis was watching and he said "You just have to be patient for a bigger gift, right Daddy?" We cracked up.
