Travis is four, and now that he can hear better, thanks to the tubes put in his ears, is communicating much more of what he thinks.
I went out with his father and him in their little boat to do some fishing. Being four, Travis doesn't really have the whole casting thing down yet. He often lets his finger off the button before tossing the lure. One time when this happened, I said "Be careful not to hook me." He replied, "Then I'd just have to throw you back!"
We were driving along the highway another time, and Travis saw a billboard showing a hand holding a house made of money. He said "Look! You can make a birdhouse out of dollars!" I said I didn't think it would work very well, but he said "Yes it will!" So I replied that he could use his money to make it, and see how long it lasts!
I bought a new tent, because my old one was too small and was awful musty smelling from storage. I set it up the yard and the kids had fun checking it out. I asked who would like to go camping with me in the dark, dark woods. Ella was the first to raise her hand. Then Travis said "Well, I'll have to come to protect you!" Nice that he has that kind of confidence!
