Graduation

My buddy, Travis, graduated from Preschool today.

It might sound silly to those who think it's overdoing things, but it was important to the kids. It marked a passage to the next stage of life.

Each child had a letter of the alphabet to say a little rhyme to. Travis and his friend Owen did the letters S and T. They were a bit quiet, but remembered their lines. The whole class sang some songs as well. The director, Ms. Rose, is a wonderful person, and when she read a poem about the children growing from bud to flowers, I got choked up.

When Travis stepped up to receive his diploma, he hugged Ms. Rose, then turned and held up the diploma in a salute.

In the end, Travis was low-key about it all, but that's just his personality. I'm not sure he realized that there might be only one or two of his classmates that will be with him in the same school for kindergarten.

He's ready for the next adventure.
