My grandson is now two and a half years old. My daughter is an only child, and her first child is a girl, so having a boy in the family is new to me. There really is a difference between boy and girl behavior!
Travis is not much of a talker; I call him "Action Man". He would rather just go and do things, not talk about them. He does talk, though, and his latest thing to say is "Watch this!". It usually involves doing something he considers daring. For a two year old, climbing up the biggest slide on the playground is pretty exciting. It's way over my head, so it must seem like a mountain to him.
At home, he has pretty much taken over his sister's battery-powered ATV. He has to slide to one side on the seat to reach the pedal, but he drives like he's been doing it for years! He gets the biggest kick out of pretending to try to run me over. When his father brings out the real ATV, Travis is thrilled to ride around with Daddy. They "chase" each other around the yard. This past week, Travis was so busy looking out for where his Daddy was, that he ran right into the swingset support and cracked it! No one was hurt, but it sure was a shock to all. His father didn't get angry, but he did tell him to pay attention and look where he's going. Travis was concerned about the broken part, but his father assured him he could fix it.
