Christmas has to be my favorite holiday. Now that I have grandchildren, it's even better.
We went to my daughter's house for Christmas day and had a wonderful time. Santa gave the kids a "ball pit" and they were having the time of their lives in it. Balls came flying out from all their rolling around, so the adults had fun throwing them in the top to land on the kids! Everybody was in high spirits.
We had a marvelous dinner that my daughter cooked. Turkey with all the trimmings, including the special family pork stuffing! She has it just right now. There was a little incident with dropped broccoli, but there was so much else to choose from, that it didn't matter at all. The dogs were only too happy to clean up the cheese!
The best part was watching the kids open up the presents we gave them. Ella opened up her Breyer model Arabian horse first and thought it was beautiful. Then she opened up the stable, and was thrilled! It didn't take me too long to set it up. We played with it for a while and she named the horse "Shadow". It's a dapple grey.
We gave Travis a kid-size work bench. When he started opening it, he could see some of the pictures and said "It's a screwdriver!". Then he finished unwrapping and saw there was much more to it. Of course his Daddy had to set it up right away. Travis loves being able to have things and do things just like Daddy!
Tomorrow we all pile into Jen's Durango and trek up to New Hampshire where the rest of the family lives, to have a second Christmas with them!
